Guest speaker: Kristin Bergtora Sandvik, Peace Research Institute Oslo and Professor of Sociology of Law at the University of Oslo
Professor Kristin Sandvik will present on her latest book, which investigates the digital transformation of aid as a form of humanitarian extractivism. The book focuses on how practices of data extraction shift power towards states, the private sector and humanitarians. Sandvik discusses case studies on digital humanitarians, drones, UNICEFs Wearables for Good competition, the ICRC cyber attack and innovation labs.
